How to Build Your System
Understanding the two components will help you order exactly what you need.
The Tool Board (FD_USB_HUB) is the central hub of the entire feeder system. It handles power distribution and USB connectivity between your machine and computer. You only need one Tool Board per machine, regardless of how many feeders you plan to run.
The Control Board (AS_FCB_V1.0) is what actually drives the feeders. Each Control Board supports up to 16 feeders. If you plan to run more feeders, simply add more Control Boards — up to 4 can be connected to a single Tool Board, giving you a maximum of 64 feeder slots (the maximum supported by LumenPnP).

AS_FCB_V1.0 — 16-Slot Control Board
The AS_FCB_V1.0 is a complete redesign from the ground up, built to solve the reliability and noise issues that plague original feeder control boards.
It uses full hardware PWM control, which completely eliminates the servo "buzzing" and jitter noise that is common with software PWM implementations. This not only makes your workspace quieter, but also extends the life of your servos and delivers more precise, repeatable feeding.
The firmware has been fully rewritten to resolve the drop-out and freezing issues found in the original codebase. It retains full compatibility with native 0816 feeder commands, so it works seamlessly with your existing OpenPnP configuration, while also adding a new material-change mode for greater workflow flexibility.
The board uses address-based identification, meaning you can connect up to 4 boards to a single Tool Board without any configuration conflicts. Built-in reverse polarity protection and 4 large energy-storage capacitors ensure the board is safe and stable even in demanding environments. Supported feed step sizes include 2mm (for 0402 resistors), 4mm, 8mm, and more.
FD_USB_HUB — Tool Board
The FD_USB_HUB is the backbone of your feeder system. It uses the native LumenPnP feeder interface and requires an external power supply, which keeps costs low while delivering serious performance.
Its 5A servo power supply maintains an ultra-low static ripple of just 5mV, ensuring clean and stable power to all connected feeders. On the connectivity side, it provides 3 high-speed USB expansion ports plus a dedicated control board interface, so you only ever need a single cable running to your computer — no more USB hub clutter on your desk.
The board also includes built-in interface protection on the host-side USB port, which prevents a machine fault from damaging your computer's USB controller — a small but important safeguard for your workstation.
